PBTE means Punjab Board of Technical Education. The Punjab Board of Technical Education came into existence under the Punjab Ordinance No.II of 1971 by the Government of the Punjab. It was set up as a successor to the West Pakistan Board of Technical Education, which was constituted in the year 1963.
PBTE is a corporate body responsible to conduct the examinations of technical, commerce and vocational streams as well as the Short Courses below degree level in the territorial limits of the Province of Punjab under the provision of PBTE ACT, 1977. PBTE is striving to adapt the curricula based on competencies to meet the requirements of National Vocational Qualification Framework (NVQF).
